When I learned of letters that had been discovered from my great grandfather to my great grandmother, I was moved by their content. They were letters of a husband begging for forgiveness and to be reunited with his wife and child. The story of my great grandparents romance and tragedy was not passed from generation to generation. I took the emotions from the letters and created a fiction story around them.
