Joseph Murphy That's a tough one. Since most of my work was done daily, on a current event in the election race, I picked a topic I already pretty much knew how I wanted to express. When I did run into a ditch, I pulled up a notepad and just wrote about anything, to clear my mind and get the word flow going.
Joseph Murphy The creativity and the self satisfaction. The first time I saw my book listed on Amazon, I couldn't stop looking at it. I didn't care how many copies it sold, I just looked at and said to myself, "Yeah, I actually DID that!"
Joseph Murphy Three things.First, just be natural. Find a subject you're passionate about, and are comfortable writing about, and let it fly. Second, Second, be honest with yourself, but not overly critical. Sometimes finding just the right phrase to use can be difficult. Take a whack at it, move on, and then come back later and reread it to see if you can disco er a better way to put it. But don't hammer yourself or become discouraged if you're having trouble, it'll come together eventually. Third, finding an editor who knows you and your style can make all the difference in the world.
Joseph Murphy Right now I'm working on two projects, the second installment of the President Evil trilogy, tentatively titled "President Evil II: The Lord of the Bling.", as well as a satirical fictional novel on the rise of Trump which as of yet has no working title.
Joseph Murphy I have always loved reading, and thought that it would be great to have someone actually interested in what I had to say. My stumbling block was finding a subject that I knew well enough and felt comfortable in writing about, and the 2016 election provided that inspiration.
Joseph Murphy I am a lifelong political junkie, and as a frequent diarist on the Daily Kos site, I just fell naturally into reporting what I saw as the madness of the 2016 GOP primaries. Positive review of my daily post led me to compile them in a chronological order to provide a little perspective on how we actually got to where we are right now.
