Deon Ashleigh I never knew this question/answer system existed. But, for 2021, The Chicago Manual of Style, N.K. Jemisin's The Broken Earth trilogy, and a new one, Hollis Whittaker by CB Shanahan.
Deon Ashleigh Hey Kirsty,

How are you doing?

Yes, please message me.
Deon Ashleigh For my debut novel, When We Was A Child, I got the idea from some philosophical thinking. I'm the philosophical type, lol. The book is a little more complicated than this, but here are the basic questions:

What if we could breed evil out of human nature?

If you knew you would be forgotten after your death, how would you live?
Deon Ashleigh I think of my death. I have stories I believe in that I hope will live beyond my own life. When I die, there will never be another me. I hope by writing these stories, filled with my unique existence, I'll leave something for others.
Deon Ashleigh The second draft of my debut novel, When We Was A Child.

I can't wait to read the finished product. :)
Deon Ashleigh Tell a story you believe in. Belief is impossible to sabotage or crush, in my opinion, so you'll be "forced" to write this story. 1 in 400 trillion, that's the odds of our current existence.

If you don't write your story, they'll be no other you to do it.
Deon Ashleigh Touching souls through words.
Deon Ashleigh I'm grateful to be a writer that doesn't get writer's block often. When writing, videos play in my mind. They can be about anything. I'm able to rewind or fast-forward these videos, to some extent, and then write down the descriptions. Emotions, dialogue, etc.

Once in a while, when the blank page looks particularly daunting, I listen for the voice of a character. Just one sentence in that voice can kickstart a video.

My writer's block is usually for a word, rather than a story. At this time, I type CHECK and hiss. I try to keep going, but I'm not always successful. The right word haunts me, sometimes. :)
