D.C. Mallery I'd enter the book world of the Thursday Next novels by Jasper Fforde. When you enter that book world, you enter *every* book world.
D.C. Mallery The inspiration for Darksight is the real medical phenomena called blindsight, which is the amazing ability that some individuals with cortical blindness have to sense objects they can't actually see. With cortical blindness, the retina and optic nerves still function, but the part of the brain that processes vision -- the visual cortex -- might be damaged so badly by a stroke or injury that the person is unable to see anything. Yet some with cortical blindness can still be "aware" of objects they can't consciously see. And so Darksight is about a daring medical experiment to restore vision that takes blindsight to a whole new (and ultimately very dangerous) level.
