Ben Wright-Heuman This is going to sound weird, but bear with me.

Every once in a while, I go through these periods of deja vu that usually last a few weeks. I'll randomly remember flashes from dreams I had, often years earlier, that perfectly match moments in the present. I've remembered dreaming about playing video games that didn't exist yet, and meeting people I hadn't met yet. It's always small and inconsequential stuff, and it doesn't seem to mean anything.

I am typically skeptical by nature, and the most logical explanation is that these feelings of deja vu are just figments of my imagination. I usually forget about the dreams up until these periods start up again, which I recognize is extremely convenient. Whether or not these are real, however, I think a story about a precognitive ability along these lines could be pretty interesting.
Ben Wright-Heuman Please listen to me extremely carefully, as I don't have a lot of time. Their hot breath is and slaver are at the back of my heels, for I am already doomed, but you have a slim shot at survival as long as you
Ben Wright-Heuman Most people probably answer this question with a fantastic setting, and I did consider answering with the worlds of HARRY POTTER or DINOTOPIA. As a child, those would've been my go-to's.

As an adult, however, I have simpler needs and desires, and the world that holds the greatest appeal to me is Louise Penny's town of Three Pines from the INSPECTOR GAMACHE mysteries. I want to visit that town, eat in Gabri's cafe, peruse Myrna's bookstore, listen to Ruth's duck curse, and just experience this idyllic Quebecois town. Hopefully nobody dies while I'm there, including me.
Ben Wright-Heuman We're on the tail end of summer, but I'm currently going through GOOD OMENS by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. Earlier in the summer, I read the following:

PARADOX BOUND by Peter Clines
MY FAVORITE THING IS MONSTERS by Emil Ferris
4 KIDS WALK INTO A BANK by Matthew Rosenberg
THE HERO OF AGES by Brandon Sanderson
SKYWARD by Brandon Sanderson
THE HYPO by Noah Van Sciver
WE ARE LEGION (WE ARE BOB) by Dennis E. Taylor
Ben Wright-Heuman Telling stories. All my life, that's what I've really wanted to do.
Ben Wright-Heuman I get most of my ideas from consuming media. I'll be reading, watching TV, listening to a Dungeons and Dragons podcast, and something in the back of my head will say, "That's an interesting idea, but what if we did it like THIS?" I'll usually bounce the idea around in my head for a while, and it will eventually become a story.
Ben Wright-Heuman In addition to my weekly comic strip, COSPAIN, I'm working on the sequel to my graphic novel, THE LETTERS OF THE DEVIL. It's currently scheduled for release in 2019.
