I dislike the word winning. But I also really hate the "participation trophies" of life. I understand that "showing up" is 90% of the battle but I also think that we need to understand excellence - "keeping score" is a way that we do that...
There are so many "races" that we participate in that we either don't really know we are in or don't really understand how to "win." And because of that we spend so much wasted life-time just drifting... or conversely, thrashing away pursuing life-less ends.
I'm working on radically redefining the way I personally think of "winning" and also discovering a way to ensure what we all consider "winning" happens daily, moment by moment even.
I want to create an understanding that allows anyone to put daily "life" into a powerful, automatic energy level where they generally "win" at everything living ever requires (health, relationships, money, etc) and simultaneously allows them (through that enhanced ability and freedom) to excel at "soul" things - inspiration, art, success, mission, destiny... etc.
I have the beginnings of a model that I think can make this happen.
Stay tuned... Its getting exciting!

Fearless GIVING is something I have wanted to say for a long, long time. The idea was born out of my daily living - the living we all do. And then it was born out of my desperately TRYING to LIVE a different life than the one I had set before me. Different than all the life I viewed around me. And when I finally understood enough, and I had found another option that worked, I could not, in all honestly, fail to share that.
It was always something that you could WATCH me do but never something that was "basic" to explain in a conversation. It needed a book and a sort of longer, more personal exploration by someone reading to be effective.

Strangely enough I think that seeing the pain of life, the missed opportunities, the misunderstood beauty, the slight decisions that ruin happiness... inspire me to write. There is so much unnecessary pain - in everyone's life, that I always feel compelled to understand it better... to ask why and to explore how. Every time I sense that pain, the very pain of just being HUMAN I feel I must write about it to cling to my very soul. I guess its the drive of every human to make "sense" of things. To bring an order or model to the chaos.
And that is easy to find, that inspiration... look around, look within, remember, anticipate, appreciate, love, fear, run, hide... being human feels like inspiration enough most days.

Write a lot. All the time. Don't wait. You will never "see" in your minds eye the finished product that will encourage you enough to know you "can do this." You will be lucky if you can fully see TODAY'S page - write that page. And tomorrow - write that day's page.
Don't make the mistake of thinking you write the book 100% alone. Its a partnership. The more you write - the more the writing tells you what's next. The writing writes back at you.
But YOU have to show up first and listen very, very carefully. Like any athlete or performer - you have to get in your "zone" and stay there until you are a little tired, a little frustrated maybe but still GOING and then... something magic happens... it starts to flow. Keep up. Get as much of the "good stuff" down as you can when you feel it happen... whether that is 2 sentences or 200 pages... get there. Get it down every day. You can make it sound nice and look good later but inspiration, the muse, must be beckoned. More than anything, learning how to put in that "call" to your own soul and it's connection to the greater cosmos is the work you are REALLY DOING.

Words. I love words. I love the books they come alive in. To be able to GIVE those two things to the world is just like being a kid again... free to dream worlds ... free to create and craft messages that are meaningful to me - and that can then become meaningful to others. Being true.

I find whatever "writer's block" I experience is more about having TOO MANY ideas than not enough. The writing itself isn't necessarily a hard process. Writing well and making sure what is said is unique and valuable and worthwhile - that is the real challenge. When I can't write well, at the level I want, its usually because I am not thinking well. That is usually solved by "getting back to me" - exercise, solitude, my favorite haunts and people - these always take me back to a place where I live my best and create at the highest level.
