Emma York Keep writing anyway, sit and type whether you want to or not. I don't stop until I've got a chapter done every day, no matter how long it takes.
Emma York Working from home followed closely by creating whole worlds and people who wouldn't exist if it wasn't for me!
Emma York Do lots of reading and lots of writing. You can't improve without both. Don't be scared to publish and accept all the criticism you can find, readers are great at telling you how to improve if you're willing to listen.
Emma York A sub/Dom billionaire romance called Sub Rosa, based on the old medieval term which meant secret under the rose. In ceilings, roses would be carved and anything said under them would be kept secret and only shared in that room. I thought about a BDSM secret playroom where the same rules applied and started from there. Only 20 chapters to go and it'll be done, easy!
Emma York Not motivation, discipline. I write every day whether I want to or not so I am always working. Normally in the morning before breaking for a run in the afternoon then getting back to it. To get inspired, I sit and start typing. The muse sneaks in when I'm already working and whispers in my ear how to improve in the next draft!
Emma York Standing on top of Almscliffe Crag near Harrogate. I saw people climbing and wondered how a billionaire and his submissive might end up climbing up these rocks. The idea became a 50,000 word novel called Firm.
