I remember attending John Filion's book launch for "The Only Average Guy" with my partner at a downtown Toronto bookstore in 2015. There were publishers and book people there and I wanted to pitch the idea of a book on polyamory, but feeling uncomfortable -- "Who'd what to read that?" -- I didn't. Several months later, Julie Kirsh, who used to work at the library of the newspaper I'm employed by, contacted me and said Dundurn Press was looking for someone to write a book on non-monogamy/open relationships. I threw my hat in the ring. I was really lucky to be presented with an incredible opportunity into this subject that has so little reportage.
