Hi! Thanks for the question. I left his real name a mystery (for now) because I liked the possibilities it kept open for his character. Plus, Vivid is so mysterious, I had to let Scorch have some fun, too! I DO know what his real name is, but in the meantime, feel free to have it be whatever you want. Archibald? Gary? Perhaps! ;)

You're not spamming me at all! I love questions! Different genres I'd like to explore? The first thing that comes to mind is sci-fi. I want romance and space ships to collide at some point. Also, historical fiction would be interesting. I'm really into Ancient Greece at the moment, having just read a slew of Mary Renault books. So a story taking place in that time? I would probably love writing something like that.

I say big yes to sci-fi and an enormous YES to historical fiction! I've been trying to find more historical fiction and there's hardly any mm fiction

Hey! Thanks for reading. Let me see if I can answer these for you.
-The concept for The Sun Guardian was created ten years ago, when my friend and I wanted to write a totally cliche fantasy with a twist ending, where the hero ran off with the bad guy at the end instead of saving the world. Obviously, that changed in the final story. But the characters of Vivid and Scorch stayed with me a long time after that, until I finally decided to give it another shot. I'm glad I did.
-My favorite character? That's a tough one to answer, because I love them all and I've spent so much time with each of them in my head. I will say that I love Ellison Quinn with all my heart. But I can't choose an absolute favorite. Vivid is probably the most fun to write, since he's so grumpy and emotionally challenged.
-Short stories are fun! And there's so much potential with what you could tell for each book. For the Sun Guardian, I'd probably write one that followed Vivid from the Assassins Hollow to the Circle. How did he get captured and taken, etc?
For King's Whisper, I think I'd like to spend more time with Audrey, maybe reveal more of her short lived relationship with Queen Bellamy. I think it was an intense relationship with a lot of animosity involved, and it'd be fun to explore that more. Plus, more Audrey is always great.
And I already know exactly what short story I would want for The Guildmaster. I'd want Quinn to take Merric home to meet his parents in East Viridor! Enough said. Hilarity would ensue. Embarrassing moments would reign supreme.
Thank you for your questions!!

Mark! I'm finally seeing this question! One year later! I'm going to blame my not seeing it on my assistant...(I'm so sorry.)
I actually DO have an idea in my head of how Vivid was captured, and I think he must have been drugged. That's why he's sniffing suspiciously at his water when he's in the circle cage. And I think that would make a hilarious short story. Vivid would be very grumpy to have that documented.
As for Kio, I'll keep that one a mystery for now...but I don't think it was an accident that she ended up there. ;)
Thank you for your question, and I'm so glad you enjoyed the book. There are two sequels now, and if you have any questions about those, I'll be sure to answer within the year this time.
