I try to keep writing. Anything. Even if it's garbage that has nothing to do with a work-in-progress, I write. Maybe it's a blog post or journal entry. Every once in a while I'll walk away and go do something else. Music helps me with writing. I hear a song and I can picture a scene, so I'll write that.

Write. Just write. Don't worry about being brilliant. Don't edit on the fly. That comes later. Write it all down. All the time.

I've got three 3 manuscripts in the works. One is a sequel to KILROY WAS HERE, the second is a spin-off. The third (and the one most vying for my attention) is a superhero comedy with what I hope is a bit of a twist.

I make it a point to write SOMETHING every day. Even if it's a journal entry or fleshing out ideas for a character, I make it a point to write. I used to wait for the muse to strike and discovered that can be a lonely, unproductive practice. I like to listen to music and often will listen to certain songs on repeat if they provide a mood or theme for a scene.
