My last book, "The Beat Goes On," is the sequel to "Porcelain Posy"-- a bitter-sweet resolution to the heart breaking relationship between a mother and her daughter, both victims of sexual exploitation and abuse.

My inspiration comes from many different sources. Mainly, I concentrate on real life psychological conflicts, the difficult choices we all make, the ownership of one's failings, and, finally, the courage to overcome the assaults on our sense of self-worth and dignity.

My advice for aspiring writers is to not rush or force the plot; to let the characters speak to you in their own "voices" concerning their disappointments or joys.

Nothing is more rewarding to me as an author than knowing that readers are benefiting from my writing in some way; that they are enjoying the "journey" of my characters toward becoming whole, functioning human beings capable of transcending their difficulties.
