T.M. Becker Since it's both a sequel and a prequel, I have already created most of the characters and setting for this book. The world I have created offered a natural plot theme of political intrigue, along with the insecurity of acclimating to a new social setting. Lots of fun.
T.M. Becker I'm almost always inspired to write, I just don't have a lot of time to do so. There are times when I'm not, but I hope now that I'm published those times will be less frequent.
T.M. Becker I am working on The Princess and the Orphan (working title). Right now I'm calling it book 1.5. I have two books after Full Moon Rising written, but my husband and family decided I needed one between 1 and 2. And I think they are right. So I'm writing both a sequel and a prequel at the same time. It's an interesting process.
T.M. Becker Keep writing, keep writing, keep writing. And find a critique group. Constructive criticism is imperative to success. And you must grow a thick skin yet also be able to separate useful advice from useless garble. Lots of people don’t know nearly as much about writing as they think they do. Find someone you trust…find a couple someone’s you trust, and let them tear down your work so you can build something worth reading. And a fierce stubborn streak is helpful as well. And most importantly, don’t give up on your writing.
T.M. Becker One of my favorite things about being a writer is that I can write anywhere and get inspiration from anywhere. I also love how a single image or idea can blossom into an entire series.
T.M. Becker I literally never have writer's block. I have so many more things running through my head than I have time to put to paper. Sometimes I have to walk away for a few minutes to figure out what I want to do for the next word, paragraph, page, or chapter, but a stint doing dishes or folding laundry usually solves that for me. Or sometimes I let things sit overnight.
