I write about a block. A road block, on the street, lights flashing and cops with guns at the ready. Nobody is getting through this thing, that much is clear, only there are no cars coming, and those buzzards are getting awfully chatty up there.
Or a block, like a children’s block set. But why is the R missing? Did Billy eat the R? Oh no, someone help, Billy swallowed a block! I can see it in his throat. There, see it? Quick, you take his feet and I’ll take his back and, or—no stop pulling! We don’t pull, do we? Oh, wait, there’s the block. See it, under the couch. Silly me. Hmm, now what’s wrong with Billy’s throat, anyway?

If I try to force myself to come up with something,it's not going to be much fun. Then again, the best ideas just seem to hit me when I'm not expecting it. I've found that it's best to take those small inklings and get them down. You never know!
