Just a few years back I too was aspiring to be a writer, and now I am. The first step is to start writing. Start with small smaller articles, get it reviewed. Don't get bogged down if someone criticize some aspects of your writing. It is their perspective of looking at the article. Analyse and correct if required. See that your readers are eager to read your articles; then try to expand your reader base.

The best thing being a writer is that you ... well it is not one but many. The first thing is that you can create a revolution by writing. Secondly the ideas which is generated by a writer can be used practically by another person who is able to grasp the idea and put it into use. Finally writing unleashes your wild fantasies which may not materialize in real life but still make a good read for literary lovers.

The best thing I do when I'm unable to write is to have a few sessions of deep meditation which directly connects me to my self. A relaxed session helps me write better with newer and thrilling ideas.
