Narnia! It has been so long since I read these books but it is the first answer that popped in my head when I read this question. I would love to be in the presence of Aslan.

For me, one of the best things I can do to get unstuck is to get some physical exercise, the more strenuous the better. I find that when my body is being pushed, my mind is freed up to do other things like solve problems. I've also found that sometimes you just need to write your way through it to the other side.

My advice is to remove the restrictions we so often place on ourselves by questioning, procrastinating, and worrying/wondering if anyone will ever see it, or if it is any good...just write...write when you can, about stories that move you, and keep working on them until they are the best version you can create. Then release them and move on to the next thing.

Inspiration to write comes in many forms--sometimes based on real life events I witness that move me with anger, joy, sadness, mystery, outrage or passion. This will sound strange, but other times, I get random ideas or first lines that will be so interesting I have to write them down and explore them later. I also love writing prompts that often become something unexpected.

CHASING THE MERRY-GO-ROUND is a true story that was inspired by my brother. My heart all along was to tell my brother's story so that people could see what life is like for someone like him--someone who has always only dreamed of a "normal" life, but life has been anything but...

The best part about being a writer for me is connecting with the reader.
Finding the words to relay a thought, idea, feeling in just the right way so that someone else can "get it," is the most rewarding thing. I'll never forget the first time that happened for me at a reading--I was hooked. My passion is to write about the things that move me, with the hope that they move you too.
