First, read a lot. It really helps tell your story when you enjoy how others tell theirs.
Second, write a lot. It doesn't matter if you make a million dollars or if no one buys a single book. If you want to be a writer, you have to get your story recorded.
Third, follow through. No one can find your work if you don't put it out there. Don't worry about acceptance or rejection. Just let your stories go out into the world and see what happens. Any great reward comes with risk.

I'm working on the next book in the Lucky Vegas series, The Golden Moment. It's Dani's best friend Paige's story. Paige seems like the golden girl, but she's had her struggles and she's waiting for her happy ending. If you remember Paige from Treat Me Sweet, she's a smart-mouth, loyal friend and sought-after model. The Golden Moment is her battle for love and closure.

My mind is always running mini movies, at work, in the store, at the doctor's office. Sometimes those movies turn into story ideas. The characters start telling their story, and I need to write it down for them.

I've always loved cooking and baking, so I wanted to incorporate that into a story. Then I thought about setting and I've always loved the energy and fun of Las Vegas. Honestly this book started out totally different with a small-town girl returning to a home where she had a very painful childhood. Once I started writing, the characters took over and Treat Me Sweet was the end result.
