I needed a way to let out the characters that have existed in my head since I was old enough to have an imagination. The story itself for 'Forged in Blood and Lightning' has evolved over time and many drafts, but once I came up with an original twist on Norse mythology, the rest flowed.

I don't tend to suffer from this because I have the opposite issue -- too many ideas or voices crowding for attention. Sometimes though, you need to address your fears that you're not good enough, or walk away and do something completely different. The answers are out there, yes, but you also make the answers at the keyboard.

Dealing with your woes and troubles in a fictional setting can do wonders for your mental health. That, and the ability to lose track of the world and create your own instead, where you decide who wins and get what.

I am currently working on the third instalment of the Descendants of Thor Trilogy, which is called 'Wrath of Aten'. It's been a big challenge to finish but I'm aiming to publish around Yule 2018.

I think the love of stories is in my bones. Writing is natural to me, whether it's penning a diary entry or a poem to calm my feelings. But certain conditions are ideal: early evening, peace and quiet, a cup of tea and some good music.
