I don't know what other people do while falling asleep. But I usually made up stories in my mind. So I guess I just go to bed to get inspired :D.

I basically wrote "And then came you" for my girlfriend who I met backpacking in Australia. She was working at the local hostel and just came out of a relationship (not being cheated on though!). As a result she put herself on a "boy break" for at least a year (Spoiler Alert: Since I already called her my girlfriend, we all know how this was ending ;)).
I on my end didn't even plan on stopping in Townsville (that's where the story is set), but ended up staying more than five months.
But that's already where the similarities to our own story are ending. I always had the basic plot in mind and was now "only" pressing it into a backpacker story and chucked in some moments my girlfriend and I shared (maybe at some point I will reveal which ones ;)).
