Be very clear on the outcome and purpose of your book – is it simply a creative outlet, a lead generator for your business, to help and deliver value to your readers/community.
All three are valid, but all three are very very different.

Right now we are 90 days out from release, so it's all hands on deck doing what I love – marketing.
We're trying to do everything we can to give the book every chance it has to help people.
We've been very lucky to win a few awards so far, such as a Gold Medal Non-Fiction Book Award; Silver Medal Axiom Business Book Award; a Bronze Stevie Award for Best Business Book – so hopefully we can capitalise on those to extend the reach for Cadence.

Writing is not natural to me at all... I'm a small business owner by trade and skill; so sitting down to write a business book isn't close to my day-to-day.
The deal for this book was signed close to two years ago, so the inspiration came and went throughout the process.
As soon as we turned the book from a typical non-fiction book into a business parable it got so much more engaging for everyone, including me, as it was closer to what I am used to – conversations.

Cadence was a culmination of a few things.
The central business premise is around a business framework (The 7 Levers) which has begun to form a little community and movement since we first discussed this idea on a podcast about 6 years ago.
So with a nudge from the community, I started working on a traditional business book around the 7 Levers Framework and 10% Wins concepts.
It started out as a traditional non-fiction book, but something just didn't feel right (pun intended), so with a little pivot and some help from two amazing editors we turned the book into a narrative parable style book.
It's based on a true story, which has made it so much more engaging than I could have ever done on my own.
