I had a realization, as I was experiencing grief in my life, that loss truly feels like the end of the world. And as I was trying to rationalize that thought away - trying to minimize how planetary my sadness felt - it only made me more convinced that it is actually true. It is the end of *a* world as you currently know it. It helped crystalize some ideas I'd already been kicking around in my brain, and the rest of the narrative followed quickly after!
