Jim Doran A few sequels and another story inspired by gaming.
Jim Doran I start by asking a question that has no easy answer. For example, if you were told that angels and demons were real, and you were given a potion to see them every day, would you drink it? I take the idea and pair it with the most interesting character I can imagine in that scenario. Usually this is someone who will greatly challenged. In our scenario, perhaps two best friends are offered the chance to drink the potion. One is an atheist and one a believer. After I have a basic plot, I only start writiing if I have a satisfying ending. There are a lot of ideas rolling around in my head where I haven't put together an ending worthy of the story.
Jim Doran My idea for Kingdom Come came from my desire to write a fairy tale game. I thought it would be fun to play a game where the players had to abide by fairy tale norms. After I drew the map, I realized the game might never end so I decided to make it into a book instead. A lot of the ideas are still present in the book.
