I am now completing book number two, I’m in the very final stages. I also have ideas and the occasional scene skipping around my mind for the next one - so I always carry my book three note book eveywhere with me.

Write with your heart, it’s true, don’t get in your own way and create your own distinct voice. Really believe in the story you want to tell and the characters who are helping you to achieve this. Then, in the final stages, see every possible rejection as an opportunity to re-write, re-think and improve your work even further. Absorb, every piece of advice, any little criticism and use each one.

Time literally disappears when I write, I completely loose myself to the world of my story. Anything I may have been worrying over before, disappears. It’s like my own secret world and anything can happen. It’s the most perfect form of escapism.

I don’t worry about it, because it will clear. I read, I walk and something will always come from somewhere. Or sometimes, I just sit down and write anything and it will encourage my imagination to kick in. Music, is also a great way of stirring emotions and provoking thought - I use this sometimes.
But mostly, I realise the worst thing I could do is, to worry about it, so I tend to go with it, knowing it will clear.

Her Greatest Mistake, has been a long time coming. The premise of the book came to me through a combination of personal and professional experiences, people I may have met and from always being a people watcher. From the outset, I wanted to question the differences between what people see, what they don’t see, what they know and what they don’t know. And, also the human vulnerability to rely on and trust personal perspective.
My professional experience, of having worked within mental health for many years, has allowed me an invaluable insight into the workings of the human mind.
