Alastair Brown I had the idea for the Joe Beck character for a while. But it's the story that drives a book. Inspiration for Army of One came from a box of shortbread sitting in my kitchen. The title on the box was "Chairman' s Collection." I looked at it and thought, who's the chairman? And the rest is history.
Alastair Brown I've always wanted to do it.
Alastair Brown Unconstrained freedom. You can think of almost anything, the more off-the-wall it is, the better. It's pure and simple entertainment, and a whole lot of fun imagining a character being slung into death defying situations and questioning how they would react.
Alastair Brown Lots of coffee, fresh air, rock music and outdoor walks. It almost never happens, but when it does, I just step away and do something else. Inspiration is everywhere. It's all around us. I'll see somebody standing on a train, or watch a car pulling into a side street and my mind will go into overdrive. Just a slim glimmer of spark is all it takes, and about fifty pages just happen in my mind.
Alastair Brown The second Joe Beck thriller!
Alastair Brown If you've got an idea for a book, just write it. Life's too short to put it off and look back years down the line wondering what if? Write the book you want to read. Chances are, if you like it, somebody else will, too. So, what are you waiting for? Go get started.
