I can create my own world and can escape there whenever I please. I can enter when I like, then wickedly make my poor creations suffer a little, then some more...and when there can't possibly be more peril, more disappointment and despair, I have the power to make it all better in ways I couldn't imagine when I started. THAT's the best thing about writing - you can fix what's broken - but in ways my readers may not expect.
