It may seem like a strange answer, but I suspect it may have been a reward from the tooth fairy. Clara's Search for Magic and one of my current works in progress came to me, on separate occasions, as I was brushing my teeth before bed.

I have two children's picture books and a fiction novel all on the drawing board at the moment. I'm hoping to have one of the children's books out this year.

I love that sometimes my writing can surprise me. I should know exactly what my characters will do in any given circumstance, or what events are about to happen in the story, I am writing it after all, but sometimes the unexpected will occur, and I find myself writing a story which has a life of its own. Those are some of my favourites. Clara's Search for Magic was that type of story.

I haven't had an issue with writer's block so far. I have quite a few ideas at any one time which seem to fight for my attention. I pay attention to the one that wants to be heard most when I sit down to write. This does mean that I can take a while to complete a project as I flip between works, normally a bigger project and number of flash or short stories.
