I'm residing in eastern Virginia, and I'm fairly familiar with Newport News. As you obviously know, the Newport News/Hampton Roads area is remarkable. For those who are not familiar with it, in addition to all the cool touristy things like VA Beach, Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg, it also features a remarkable assortment of scientific and military facilities. NASA, Newport News Shipbuilding, Jefferson Labs, Norfolk Naval Station (largest navy base in the world), Langley AFB, Fort Eustis, Oceana NAS. It's also fairly routine to see Air Force One practicing landings in Newport News.
