Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Matilda Martel It's an amalgam inspired by a character in a book, a photograph of a woman I saw, and bits and pieces from here and there that I don't remember. It started out as a simple love story set in Victorian England that got interjected into a larger science fiction story I'd started writing.

How do you get inspired to write?

Matilda Martel Anything and everything. A scene in a movie, a line in a poem, a photograph or work of art can get my imagination going and I'll start creating a story around it.
