This book was inspired by the death of my daughter Eva at age 12, in 1997. I wanted to communicate the lived experience of grief, not offer prescriptions or palliatives. Although Without Jenny incorporates many of my experiences, it is not my story, but the story of the protagonist and her family. The grief of child loss is a lasting one; I hope with this book to bring recognition to others in this situation and open a window onto this most devastating of losses to the reading public.
