I see things in my work as a coach or consultant that I think have applicability more broadly. Or, alternatively, I think about things I wish I had known when I was just starting my career that would have made a world of difference.

It's funny because most of the time I'm sitting at home in my office, or in a hotel room, alone. My husband doesn't even really know what I'm up to most of the time. And so it often feels like the words go nowhere, just out to the void. They're thoughts I need to get out of my system but I don't necessarily see when they find an audience. And then one day I'm at an event, or even just bumming around on social media and someone comes up to me and tells me that my work helped them or inspired them. That part - when I can see the impact of it - it never gets old.

Just write. Start a blog. Write articles. Journal. Don't expect everything you write to be great. The more you write, the better you'll get and the sooner you'll find your voice.

The inspiration for the book came from my own experiences in toxic work environments and learning how to manage my stress to not let those situations get the better of me. It's also based on the work I do as an organizational psychology and a coach with my clients and seeing what helps them to create better working situations.
