How did I get the idea to write INVISIBLE WAR? I would have to say video games, weird dreams, research, current events, and other science fiction that exist today had influence.
The video games such as Mass Effect, Halo, Bioshock, Deus Ex, and a few others had a profound influence to write. In fact, Deus Ex has an older title named "Deus Ex: Invisible War" with a theme of conspiracy theories and terrorism. Mine consists of the deception of rebuilding humanity. Halo was also about interstellar war with a cool science fiction conspiracy twist. Mass Effect was an excellent story of saving the galaxy from a horrible race. It had a non-PC approach to diversity and I believe it's the "Star Wars" of the new generation of story telling.
Other ideas stemmed from current events and prognostications of the world and space. I'm going off in different directions here, but there's seriously a lot to cover. When I designed how to "destroy the world" I wanted to take a more natural approach compared to all the cheesy media that interprets it. Then, I asked myself how would humans rebuild humanity?
Designing the newfound world was hard because I had to take technology and make it reasonable and futuristic. There's elements of religion mixed in that supported predictions. There's diversity (not forced like Hollywood themes) based on global trade and integration. There's a bunch of stuff to make a it a hard read but in reality, most of it happens today.

I just completed INVISIBLE WAR, my debut novel. I've been working on the compendium for it but its release is pending on the success of IW. I'm also working on a new science fiction story named EDGE. It's a first contact story where we find a strange craft that accidentally appeared in our system. Earth's mission is to band together and explore the possibilities, but a nightmare awaits that originated from a parallel universe.
Another novel I've outlined and still in-design is IDLE. This is about a man who has to find the purpose of life after death. He learns that the after-life is much like what's influenced you, but your senses, past history, or beliefs are different than what's expected. I think this will be a fun and challenging one to write.

The best thing about being a writer is that you can express your creativity that others can read/see. To be honest, when I began reading, it's more disappointing to see a movie adaptation. These days movies are about branding in stead of keeping up a well-developed story. Being a writer also has the ability to teleport your ideas to another.
