I get the chance to teach children to become more socially responsible, show respect for the environment, demonstrate how they are connected with and how they contribute to their environment. These themes should be taught at the beginning of one’s education. I really want them to realize that they are connected with everything and everything is connected to them.

I start researching topics for my next book idea. My biggest "block" is being in the mood for drawing! It is hard to just say, "OK I have an hour I need to sit down and draw now!" I have to be in the right frame of mind to draw.

I am finishing up the illustrations for the second book in the Neighborwood Pen Pal series. It should be out in a couple months! The third book in the Pen Pal series has been written so I will start on the illustrations for that next.

Don’t give up…no matter how many rejection letters you have! It is worth all the rough times when a kid comes up and asks you when your next book is coming out!

Going on nature walks and watching my favorite creatures keeps me inspired. A lot of ideas come from my Earth Literacy themes and lessons.

I have acquired my MA in Earth Literacy and my thesis was teaching Earth Literacy to kids. My project was this book (Neighborwood…Earth Literacy for Kids) and I have many ideas for the series.
