I wanted to write some stories about interesting encounters and have them linked by the idea that they all struggled with dating and love, or in some cases where they had unanswered questions about their families (as in Wet Toes and Old Matches).

I draw upon things that I have seen and people I have been intrigued by. Any character is made up but I tend to mix up traits of people I have come across. I love using weather as a backdrop to the situations I describe.
