Tracey Maxfield Inspiration and ideas can strike at any time. I always carry a notebook with me and jot down ideas, thoughts, words, images...the best times of day for me to write are in the morning and evening. I am usually most productive after 7pm, I peruse my notes and begin the opening chapter of an idea or a thought and go with the flow. In is not unusual to start writing about one thing and then change direction and become fully immersed in another idea

Tracey Maxfield I experienced an acute depressive episode in 2015 and started journaling my thoughts daily. In 2016, after reading countless books on depression, I became frustrated that I could not find anything about what depression really feels like eg the physical AND emotional pain. As part of therapy, I wrote a blog about my life with depression and encouraged by friends, I transferred the words in my blog and journal into a book and Escaping the Rabbit Hole: my journey through depression, was born
