Hi. I am just coming to the end of the fourth book in your Irish detective series, having read them all within a week. As you can guess, I've loved them. Is there another one due out anytime soon?

David Pearson Hi Maggie. It's great the you enjoyed the 4 books, and thanks for your kind words. I am working on book 5 at the moment, so there is more to come!!

How do you get inspired to write?

David Pearson I write books about a beautiful locale in the West of Ireland. The place and the people in it inspire me. I can fully understand how Yeates became a great writer and artist immersed in this area.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?

David Pearson I enjoy crafting words. I like the physical act of writing longhand, and I love it when the story starts to take its own form as the writing prgresses.

How do you deal with writer’s block?

David Pearson Thankfully, that's not something I suffer from at all. I have a daily target for writing. Sometimes I exceed it, sometimes I don't hit it at all, but I never seem to get totally stuck.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

David Pearson Just do it. Writers write - it doesn't matter if it.'s not perfect, you can always re-do it - but you need to keep writing.

If your stuck - write a piece of 'flash fiction' - 500 words on any subject at all

What are you currently working on?

David Pearson I have just submitted Book 3 in the Hays & Lyons detective series for publication. I'll be starting on Book 4 over the next week.

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

David Pearson The inspiration came from the location in which the book is set. I love the area, and will be writing more mystery thrillers set in the same place
