Hi Nada!! first; I AM SO SORRY. There were three big mailings that went out, 2 to US and 1 to Canadian readers. My press did the Canadian addresses. If you live in Canada, and want to give me your address directly, I will outreach Dzanc Books to see exactly what day they sent the book/ what day is expected to reach. 2. For a partial excerpt (one complete story), please go to NetGalley and enter BUZZ BOOKS 2018 into search engine - within Fall/ Winter 2018 Buzz Books pub'd by Publishers Marketplace you can find my story, "Talinda" (also readable at Narrative Magazine if you register with a free login).

I realized that 3 of my favorite short story collections - Dana Johnson's "Break Any Woman Down", Thisbe Nissen's "Out of the Girls' Room and Into the Night" and Vanessa Hua's "Deceit and Other Possibilities" were all published as part of a prize series of an indie press (U of Georgia, U of Iowa and Willow, respectively) and i realized there was no reason not to submit to different contests, especially after reading Vanessa's lovely and interesting interviews about this experience. I also realized that while working on longer projects, I would write bunches of stories and then set them aside, not even submitting them, and that seemed silly -- so submitting to Dzanc started to make sense, and once that happened everything followed from there.

Just allow yourself to write anything, even "gibberish", just to reassure yourself that you can physically still write. Sometimes a really striking sentence will emerge from that.
