P.S. Moody As an insurance fraud lawyer I've dealt with many nefarious characters over the years who plot to cheat the insurance companies out of money through arson, human smuggling, car dumps in canals and so forth. Alibi for Arson is the culmination of my professional experiences, and the humour I hope I've acquired over the last 50 plus years!
P.S. Moody I take stock of the people around me and my environment to draw small threads which I weave into character and plot building. It can be from your own family, or even someone you run into at the mall...interesting and funny things happen all the time.
P.S. Moody I'm already more than halfway through the second Diedre Fischer mystery involving a double homicide. It's a wild ride, with a more complex plot and intricate character development than the first in this series - Alibi for Arson.
P.S. Moody Have fun! But also treat it like a job, as if you must go to the office every day for a few hours, whether it's at home in a secluded work space or a local Starbucks. Regimen and rituals are important.
P.S. Moody It allows you to create a story and decide how it's going to end...and with me I definitely prefer happy endings! It's also a creative outlet for all the ideas you've been storing in your mind over the years too.
P.S. Moody I've been lucky so far that I haven't come across writer's block yet, and I do mean yet. It happens to everyone at some point, so no doubt my turn is coming. To avoid it I just sit down and start putting things on paper to propel the story forward, not worrying if it's perfect the first time out.
