Since I am also an actor and an audiobook reader, I just work on a different project until a solution to a problem works itself out in my brain. Plus, sometimes, I hide under the covers and lament that I will never write another word but then my husband coaxes me out and I get back to work.

Write and don't throw it away. For the longest time, I threw everything I wrote away and didn't let anyone read it. Trust me, someone will love what you have written. Write for yourself, though. If it makes you happy then it is worth it :)

I am working on the backstory, in the form of a novel, for my character in Teatro di Freak, a web-series.

It depends. Sometimes I see a picture and that inspires me to create a story around the place or people in the pictures. Sometimes, I get an idea around a conversation between two people and then I want to write their story. Sometimes things just pop into my head and I can't make them go away until I write it down :)
