V.M. Marsh Being able to share stories, ideas, and characters that I like and think are cool.
V.M. Marsh I look over my outline, re-read parts (or all) of what I've written so far, or talk about my plot and/or characters with someone, like my husband or kids. My oldest daughter is a great sounding board because she gets really into and excited about my plots and characters (the age appropriate parts I share with her, anyway). Also, my husband and daughter love to challenge me by looking for plot and character holes; they think it's hilarious and a lot of fun.
V.M. Marsh Make time to write. An outline can be your best friend. Find somewhere consistent to write down ideas as they come to you (I like my phone notepad). Take time to organize and do something with those notes.
V.M. Marsh My main project right now is a novella from the villian's PoV. However, ideas for book two continue to plague me, so that outline is concurrently being developed.
V.M. Marsh Reading near the end of what I've last written can inspire and help me know where the story is going. A basic outline also keeps me writing because the ideas are sitting right there, waiting to be developed.
