I began the Joneses and the Pirateers when my second daughter was born, and never slept - there were plenty of long nights! My plan was to create a fun, pirate adventure for my girls, but those cheeky pirateer characters took on lives of their own and the story seemed to start writing itself. Six years and many versions later, Book One is finally here!

There are so many great things about writing the Joneses and the Pirateers! Giggling as I add colourful pranks and booby-traps that I know my kids will love; watching them laugh out loud as I read Book One to them; hearing from young (and young at heart) readers who have loved it and are demanding Book Two; and escaping into a magical, fantasy world of pirate adventure every time I work on the series.
