My most recent (published) book, Accidental Death was inspired by the staircase you see in the cover picture. Our last house was built in 1882 and the staircase was very high and from what I was told against modern building codes for safety. At the bottom of those stairs was a round indent in the floorboards. I always wondered if someone had fallen down those stairs in the past or what if they did today? The basic idea sprang from there and I added the detective story around it based on my experience over the years investigating similar incidents.

I am currently working on another book that takes place in Lunenburg county Nova Scotia. This area is largely populated by people of various Celtic backgrounds such as Scottish, Irish and Welsh. The beauty of this is that the Celtic peoples are full of stories, legends, myths and believe in ghosts of course! My new story is about a detective that encounters a young druidess that is caught up in the middle of a murder mystery and he has to decide if he should arrest her or help her.
