Of course there's the near obligatory, keep at it! Follow your passion! Those words may sound somewhat cliche but they are true and just that kind of encouragement has resonated throughout my life. Aside from that, treasure the learning and exploration of the process above the finished product. Use the writing process as a way to transcend judging yourself. Try to enjoy what you are writing or, if that isn't in the cards at the moment, to move in that direction to the extent possible. Also, try to exercise regularly, it helps free up the creative process no matter what you are writing about.

It's been evolving for many years. I've been thinking about questions about communication, about what helps people feel heard, what helps people to articulate their own stories -- it seems like I've been doing that for as long as I can remember. My new book, which is in the works, is entitled, "The Power of Three-Dimensional Communication," is about how and what makes communication vivid and effective. What gives people, especially partners in a relationship, feel like they understand how the communication process itself can bring them closer.
