LOL. Happy New Year, Haily! I'm currently working on revisions for Sergi - Book 7. I anticipate a March release date. I'll know the actual date once I send this off to my editor which should be later this month. And, you are now the first to know...I'll be following it up with Simone's book next. I'm so thrilled you're enjoying the series and so sorry I can't write fast enough! I think this one will be worth the wait. Kim

Hi Kathy,
Yes, there will be a new series focused on Stella and Beckworth. I'm still working out the details but I expect to have one or two books out in 2024 if all goes well. While the storyline will be different from Mordha Stone, you should see some familiar characters!

Hi Denise,
I guess because it's not published, I didn't think to add it. Although I apparently added a prequel for my time travel series a while back, so I need to make a note for future prequels. It's added now!
Thank you for the reminder.

Hi Rosanne,
The books are currently on track for a July release. I don't have specific dates yet, but as soon as I feel confident about Book 8's release, I'll set up a preorder. I'm glad you're enjoying the series and hope 8&9 meets your expectations!

Hi Vickie,
Yes, all six books will be in audio. The narrator is currently working on Book 2 and I hope to have that published before the end of May. Then I should have each additional book released every 4-6 weeks. I hope you enjoy the listen.

Good morning Veronica!
I don't have a specific release date for Book Four yet but I can tell you that it will be in September. I'm working on the last few chapters right now. I'm planning on sharing bits of it over the summer here at Goodreads and in my newsletters.
What I have shared in my last newsletter is the title of Book Four which is A Stone Forgotten. I've very excited how it's turning out and hope you find it to be worth the wait!
Keep in touch if you're interested in an Advanced Reader Copy (August timeline).
Cheers!

Some 20+ years ago, I was in San Diego for a business trip. I went out to dinner one night down by Seaport Village. I was dabbling with screenplays at the time. I remember looking out the window of the restaurant at the docks. It was extremely foggy and an older ship moved slowly back and forth from the gentle waves. I thought of the Flying Dutchman and wrote a plot (weak), developed characters (OMG - the worst), and then shoved it in a drawer, thinking it might be a novel someday for Harlequin or maybe a screenplay for Hallmark. Twenty years later, I brushed it off, gagged, changed the plot (drastically), built strong characters (I hope you agree), and kept the fog and the ship.

I have a music playlist for writing. It started out as songs I'd hear on the Clannad Pandora station that helped me visualize critical scenes of my first book. The playlist grows and changes though many of the songs remain and probably always will. I can listen to it anytime and it inspires the scenes, plots and stories to weave through my mind and eventually on paper. It's a glorious feeling.

I'm working on the next books in the Of Blood and Dream series. This includes books focusing on the cadre.
I have a new spin-off series in the world of Mórdha Stone Chronicles. This series will feature Stella and Beckworth but all our favorite characters will be part of the new story.
I've been working on a new series (Time Renegades) that I'm still trying to find the right genre (Romantsy is the best I can do for now). It includes sci-fi, time travel, historical destinations, Druids, and, as always, mystery and suspense. In other words, a grand adventure.

This isn't new advice - it came to me by way of Steven King - write. Write as often as you can. I write every day. I used to take weekends off but I don't any more. Even if it's just a paragraph, put some words to paper.
The other two important things is learning your craft. This means taking some classes when you can. You can read many books on craft, and I do recommend getting some. But nothing takes the place of a class and being around other writers. Second item is building a network - join a writing guild, critique group and/or attend "write-ins".
Never give up your dream. It took me years to get my first book out (I wasn't writing during all that time!). Good luck!

Making up stories! I never really considered myself a story teller but the more I write, the more the stories come to me. I can live in any world with any characters I want - what could be more enticing!

First choice is to take my Pom for a walk down at the old logging road. Most days there's no one there but me and the pup. I put on my "writing music" and remind myself of the issue. Most of the time, by the time the walk is over, I've solved my writing dilemma. If that doesn't work, then it's off to gardening or paddock cleaning. Repetitive work frees my right brain to create while my left brain is bored to death!
