Hi Peter. I've just been reading your excellent book "Setting the Med Ablaze". My grandfather served with SOE at Massingham from Jan 1943 until its wind-up, and then in Italy. I have a couple of group photos from his personal collection, one of which I'm fairly certain was taken at the Club des Pins in 1944. Happy to share them if you'd like? Hi Peter, I hope you see this sooner than later. I am doing research for my fourth novel in my WWII OSS thriller series. I am digging into the assassination of Adm. Darlan. Hi Peter, I just read your post on Audio versions of your book. I hired a friend to record mine and it sounds like I'm going to do the same thing as you. My question is this: After I record and have all the files, can I then upload it to my existing KDP profile for the same book? I did the paperback and eBook through KDP. Thanks!

Thanks for the question. I distributed the book via Findaway Voices and provided it with an ISBN. When I entered the metadata for the audiobook, there were spaces for the ISBNs of the ebook and print versions (both of which I had previously allocated). As far as I recall, Amazon then automatically linked the audiobook to the other versions after a few days (see http://bit.ly/GuardiansChurchillSA).

Do I need to provide an eBook or print ISBN? eBook and print ISBNs are not required for Findaway Voices to distribute your audiobook, but they can work as additional identifiers for your title across platforms and formats, and help us link your title to the appropriate print versions. Hi Peter, your name came up on Google while researching for my book inspired by two people: Captain Edward Bisset of the SOE and his wife Win - my brother's mother-in-law. My book will be a novel rather than a biography - I was interested to see that you quote from a letter from Teddy to Win. I'd be very grateful if you could let me know the source. IWM? Peter Dixon I have a whole range of potential writing projects, nearly all sparked by noticing gaps in historical knowledge or questions that need to be answered. The problem is not inspiration but lack of time.

What’s the best thing about being a writer?
Peter Dixon I'd rather turn the question around, The best thing about having given up a full-time job is the freedom to spend my time doing the things that are most worthwhile, particularly writing.

Peter Dixon In the final stages of preparing Guardians of Churchill"a Secret Army for publication, but there are three or four book ideas in the pipelune.

Peter Dixon I noticed a gap in the history, revealed by my wife's research for her book.

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?
Peter Dixon Don't give up! The more you write, the more your writing improves. There's lots of free guidance out there. Indiesunlimited is a great resource.

Peter Dixon Best to commit a short time to writing every day, preferably in the norning., even if only for an hour.
