(Somewhat clichéd answer here, but...) I read a lot of books and watch a ton of movies and TV. No matter the medium, I'm constantly fascinated by the stories other people are telling and they way they are telling them—which in turn drives me to want to tell stories of my own.

Put blinders on to what other people in the industry are doing and just keep going. Keep writing. Keep striving to finish whatever you're working on, no matter how hard it is or how long it takes.

Usually I'll put headphones in and wander around New York City. Listening to music and watching people pass by helps immensely in getting my head clear and working through whatever story problems I'm currently dealing with.
