I'd like to say I write through it. I try that. But mostly I carve out time to just think things through. The issue for me isn't a lack of ideas, it's the lack of time to let them marinade and season, to bloom and grow. If I can get away for a while, I can usually think myself out of a hole.

Being a writer means a lot of different stories bouncing around in my head at one time. It just so happened that one day they collided, and I realized that my main characters, amid a budding romance, could discover they had superpowers while my team of renegades could rally them into schemes that push them out of their ordinary world.
