While the original concept of Bigfoot as a higher intelligence from another world was Jaran's idea, the inspiration for writing this book actually came from my adolescent years. Some of my favorite books as a teen were Jurassic Park, Congo, Ender's Game, and of course, Lord of the Rings. I wanted to create something that was fun, entertaining, and would get young men into reading. While YA is a popular genre today, it seems most books are written more for a female audience. While I applaud the work of other authors, my aim was to get boys away from the XBOX for a few hours and into the world of literature.
