Lesley Eames Now there's an idea for me to consider! I'm currently working on a different story but I'll give Harry some thought. Thanks SO much for your interest and your lovely review. I'm truly grateful
Lesley Eames I'll switch from one story to another or go for a walk. Sometimes, I'll tell myself that if I can't write I'll have to do housework. Suddenly, the writing is flowing again.
Lesley Eames Apart from being able to live in trainers, joggers and drink as much tea as I like (well, OK, sometimes it's wine), the excitement of creating characters and situations is just wonderful. I find the general writing community to be immensely warm and supportive too. And wow, do writers know how to party when they get together!
Lesley Eames Writers need to think about their writing but then they have to sit down and actually write. To get started, writers can begin small by writing simple descriptions of what's around them, reflections on their day, character studies or scenes. They can then build up to creating stories, short or long. Taking a writing course can be wonderfully helpful. as can joining a writers' group.
Lesley Eames Another saga, which I'm loving. I also write stories for women's magazines and support other writers having been a creative writing tutor and mentor for many years.
Lesley Eames I'm a shocking daydreamer. I love dreaming up characters, thinking about possible situations for them and then asking myself questions. What if this happened... ? What if that happened...?
Lesley Eames I value friendships immensely so it was natural for me to write about the friendship between my lead characters and how they cope when life turns against them. I set the story in the 1920s because, following on from the First World War, it was a time of great political and social change with grinding poverty sitting alongside the glamour and fun nightclubs, fashion and cars. My lead characters are ordinary girls making their way in this strange new world and also falling in love. I'd love to know what readers think of Ruth, Lydia, Jenny and Grace. I'd also love to know what readers think of their romances.
