My work and myself are nearly indistinguishable from each other. So, if I don't want to go to work, I have a real problem.
Also, it offers a lot of geographic and time-schedule freedom so I have a lot of interests that I am able to pursue.
Okay, that was just a warm up. The best part is that my work demands that I grow. I have to examine who I am, what I want, and where I am going all the time in order to keep putting words on the page.

I am a working magazine writer so I whipped writer's block a long time ago. I'd be broke if I hadn't, which may go a long way toward the solution. Writing isn't really an option when you have a mortgage.
That said, I do have tricks. Most of these fall under the category of "managing procrastination." I give procrastination it's due. And then I count down on it like it's a two-year old and get back to work. Anything on the page is better than nothing. You can always change it later.
