Evelyn Wool Take a break and do something else for awhile. There is no forcing a story out when you are totally blocked.
Evelyn Wool The best thing about being a writer is flexibility. There are so many ways to write every day, articles, books, blogs, reviews, responses to email. That's one kind of flexibility. Another is being able to write anytime, anywhere. To sit at the kitchen table, looking out over the farm, and write....that is the best!
Evelyn Wool I am inspired to record our experiences as new farmers with the friends we left behind when we moved 500 miles away. So much happens on a farm every day, especially when you have multiple kinds of livestock and when you are learning as you go!
Evelyn Wool I am currently working on several stories about various other animals on our farm. All true stories: The day the cow didn't come in for dinner...turns out she was on the wrong side of the fence; the time it rained for four days and flooded the new pig yard so bad that we found the pigs swimming; and more Misty stories, of course.
Evelyn Wool The day Misty knocked me off the feed box, I said to myself, "This would make a great children's book!" I started working the story shortly afterwards.
