Renee Nickell It's a REAL THING! Take that time to "just be". I experienced this for about 2 months during the writing process. After I overcame it, I would right every chance I got. I also had an author coach who would encourage me, which was very helpful.
Renee Nickell Being an introvert, it is helpful to put things on paper than it is for me to talk about. When I start writing, I love re-creating stories or memories and tapping into that creative side of my brain. It's therapeutic.

Renee Nickell Usually when I would get inspired, I would immediately grab my laptop or take notes on my phone, regardless of where or what I was doing. Sometimes I'd be writing with my kids beside me. Sometimes I would write 2000 words in about 30 minutes before church. I learned to make the best use of my time.
Renee Nickell After my brother was killed in Afghanistan, I experienced tremendous heartache as a sibling. I decided I wanted to write a book honoring my brother's life and sacrifice, as well as help others in the grieving process.
